Location

The Kournas Village Beach Hotel is situated on the north shore on the island of Crete, next to the village of Kavros. It stands directly on the golden sand/gravel beach that goes into the sea.

No other place on Crete offers such a variety of nature like Kavros-Georgioupolis. The landscape offers everything to the nature lover - from the steep rocks of the White Mountain to the golden beach of the shore. The picturesque villages in the mountains, interesting conversation in the nearby fishing village of Georgioupolis or small excursions to the 5km away unique fresh water lake in Kournas are only some of the numerous impressive sites that lie close to our hotel. Bigger cities like Chania or Rethymno are 38 km and 17 km away. Both represent prefect destinations for city explorers and are easily reached by taxi or bus. The scheduled public-transit bus stop is situated directly in front of the hotel.

Because of the central position of the Kournas Village Hotel on the north coast of Crete you have an excellent opportunity to easily explore the island and its treasures. Popular sites like the Samaria Gorge, the Knossos palace or Elafonissos island are visited without difficulty in a daytrip.

You can reach the Kournas Village Beach Hotel by airplane via the airport of Chania (CHQ) or the airport of Heraklion (HER). By ship you can reach our hotel via the ports of Chania, Rethymno or Heraklion.
